Welcome to the web site of the New York County Cork Association.
The Association is Cork people's home away from home in New York. Founded in 1884 the Association has been bringing Irish people together through the centuries to promote unity, good will and protection amongst its members and to foster their culture and traditions. The need for the Cork Association today is as good as it was when founded by the men from Cork City. The Association continues to do good work for the Irish in New York as well as supporting various charitable events back home in County Cork.

During the final quarter of the 19th century, the population of New York was approximately 1,250,000 and of this number, about 200,000 were Irish immigrants.  Therefore at this time, roughly one in every six people in New York City were Irish born.
